About this work
In a large square basket lies the Christ child, surrounded by Mary, Joseph, three shepherds, the donkey and the ox. From a distance two angels look on. On the stairs to the upper floor where two other shepherds are located, a dog walks. Through a window a view of the shepherds around a fire.
