About this work
A woodland landscape with in the foreground the five wise virgins. They sit around a table with the oil lamps and read from the Bible and the tablet with the Ten Commandments. Next to them, jugs of oil and objects of domestic diligence. On the left, an angel sends two travelers away. In the background, John the Baptist preaches in a clearing in the forest. The print has a Latin inscription.
