About this work
Cain is about to kill Abel with a large stone he holds in his hand. In the background two altars are visible. On the right Cain's grain offering and on the left Abel's sacrificed lamb. God's approval of Abel's offering is symbolized by sun rays pointing to the left. With an inscription in six languages.
