About this work
A man who gathered wood on the Sabbath to make a fire is brought before Moses (Numbers 15:32–36). This is a violation of the Third Commandment: "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." The man is condemned to death by stoning. The print has a Latin caption. The print series depicts the Ten Commandments through scenes from the Old Testament.
