About this work

Jephthah returns from war and is joyfully welcomed by his daughter and singing women (Judg. 11:34-36). Jephthah is about to tear his clothes in despair, for he had promised God to sacrifice the first person he met. The print has a Hebrew, Latin, French, English, German, and Dutch inscription.
