About this work

Two scenes on one sheet. Left: The Frankish king Chilperic I visits his mistress Fredegund. She sits at a table combing her hair. In the margin a four-line caption in French. Right: King Charles VI and five other men are dressed as wild men and dancing at a wedding feast. A man with a burning torch sets one of them on fire. The Duchess of Berry throws her cloak over the king and thus saves his life. In the margin a four-line caption in French.
