About this work

Lucius Papirius Cursor, seated on a throne, shows mercy to the young Fabius Maximus as his father and the entire Roman people plead for mercy. Fabius Maximus had attacked the Samnites without Papirius's permission and was to be punished for it. Depiction in the Council Chamber of the Court of Justice of Holland, Zeeland and West-Friesland in the Binnenhof in The Hague.
