Virtue Drives Out Vices

On the right stands the personification of Virtue in the guise of a man in armor before a classical building. In his right hand he holds a shield with a laurel wreath, and in his raised right hand a flaming sword. On the left, three putti cower before him. The upper putto possibly holds a lemon as a symbol of sour love and false friendship. The dagger of the middle putto symbolizes wrath, and the lower putto drops playing cards, symbols of strife and laziness. Below them a snake, representing evil, and an eagle as a symbol of pride.
