About this work
One of the Five Foolish Virgins from the biblical parable, holding an oil lamp upside down in one hand, holding up a fold of her skirt with the other. The girl has been cut out and pasted onto another sheet; her hand with the lamp apparently did not come along properly and was drawn in. This print is part of a series of ten prints, five with Wise Virgins and five with Foolish Virgins.
