About this work
On a chariot drawn by two elephants stands the winged Fame, she blows on two trumpets. In the foreground walks a procession of statesmen and the poet Dante whom Fame has chosen. To the left stand the large head and foot of the statue of Constantine the Great. In the background architecture of both Rome and Tivoli is recognizable.
