About this work

Woman from Vienna, in profile to the left, with dark hat with low, straight crown and wide brim with tied hatband, slanted forward, on hair combed tightly back with bun at the back of the head. Square, flat white collar on dark cape with flat collar, which is held up from the front, so that lighter, floor-length skirt is visible. Tight-fitting bodice with bragoens and slashed sleeves in which shirt is visible. Embroidered gloves with wide scalloped caps. Shoes with block heel.
