About this work

Merchant's wife from Nuremberg, seen from the back at an angle, with hat with straight crown, hatband with flat bow and wide brim slanted back on the head. A round, flat collar above a thick fur collar. Short, pleated shoulder cape with flat collar and trimmed with fur. Ankle-length, gathered skirt decorated with horizontal bands. Apron and open shoes with heel.
