Woman of Cologne Out Walking

Woman from Cologne, in profile to the left, wearing a straight cap on the back of the head under which a linen cap with a gathered lace-trimmed edge turned back from the face. Wide, thick pleated collar with a narrow shirt edge visible around the neck. Sleeveless bodice with bragoenen, buttoned at the front and open at the side seam, fastened with lacing. Tight long sleeves with gathered turned-back cuffs trimmed with lace. Top skirt gathered and pushed back slightly, revealing the ankle-length underskirt decorated with three horizontal bands. White pleated apron. In the right hand a hood with a small, flat, round cap with a standing stalk and plume and a spacious, finely pleated cape. In the left hand gloves with decorated caps. Decorated open shoes fastened with ribbon, block heels.
