About this work
Christ walks with the cross on his shoulder through a city gate. A man (Simon of Cyrene) helps him carry it. Behind them a procession of people. In the background right it can be seen how Mary faints and is caught by a man and several women. This print is part of a series of twelve prints with scenes from the Passion.
