About this work
Joachim stands at an altar in a temple with a purse in one hand and his hat in the other. A priest speaks to him, sends him away because he has no children. In the background left it can be seen how Joachim is told by an angel that his wife will become pregnant. This print is part of a series of twelve prints with scenes from the Life of Mary.
