About this work
The angel Gabriel announces the birth of Christ to Mary, while she sits reading in a domestic room. In the background right a representation of the Visitation: the pregnant Mary meets the also pregnant Elizabeth. This print is part of a series of twelve prints with scenes from the Life of Mary.
