About this work

In an interior a man in bed is cared for by two women. A man with a torch collects the dead sheep of a flock near a cow lying down. Outside men and women mourn the deceased and turn away from the victims. On the base of a pillar with a bust is a text: LINQUEBANT DULCES ANIMAS, AUT AEGRA TRAHEBANT CORP. To the left through a window rays of light fall inside in which the text EFFIGIES SACRAE DIVOM PHRIGI appears.
