About this work

In an inn interior, a man jumps up from a stool and waves a drawn knife threateningly, his opponent recoils in fright and holds his hat in defense before his chest. A sitting man tries to calm the angry man and a woman puts an arm protectively around the child on her lap. The cause of this fight is a card game that lies on top of a barrel which falls over due to the tumult.
