About this work
Costume: Both are well dressed according to German fashion of ca. 1490-1500. The man wears a doublet trimmed with fur and pointed shoes with straps. On the ground lies his hat of long-haired felt with high crown and wide brim. The woman wears a gown with low round neckline and a bodice with vertical pleats. On her head a cap with network of (gold) thread (Haube) with translucent veillet on the forehead. At her waist a purse, which she holds in her hand.
