The Primrose family and the family portrait

About this work
To increase the standing of the Primrose family it is decided to have a family portrait made. The result is a tasteless portrait on which the family members are partially depicted as mythological figures. Sir Thornhill also appears on the portrait. When the portrait is delivered it turns out the canvas is too small for the modest room. Numbered top right: 5.
