About this work

After the siege of Otsjakiv (1737), George Keith, 10th Earl Marischal, adopted the twelve-year-old Janissary daughter Emet Ulla. In 1763 the girl was baptized Marie Emeté. The marriage proposal of Lord Maréchal she rejected. Later she married Denis-Daniel de Froment.
