About this work
Village street with peasants at an inn. They are sitting at a meagre meal with a loaf of bread and a fish on a half barrel. This is deceptive because one of the peasants has a large jug of drink on his lap and another has drunk so much that he is supported by a woman. In the background, a country fair is taking place.
