About this work
The centaur Nessus is a ferryman at a river. When he ferries Deianira across, he attempts to abduct her and gallops away with her. Hercules, already on the opposite bank, draws his bow to shoot Nessus. In the margin, a four-line inscription in two columns in Latin.
