About this work

Man and woman dressed according to the fashion of ca. 1500-1510. The woman wears a gown* with square neckline and flaring sleeves, a knotted belt around the waist. On her head a cap with flat-laid veil. The man wears a paltrock* with square neck, a cap with rolled brim (bonnet *) and clogs* on his feet.<BR />Ihle p. 12, no. 24: Young man wears bonnet with indented turned-up brim. Paltrock with square neck. Above it a simple shirt is visible. Around his shoulder a bag. Woman wears costume with wide turned-back sleeves. She holds up the front of the skirt while she has taken a tip of her train up at the back in the waist. Long silk hip belt (often found in Lucas van Leyden).
