About this work
In front of a city gate, Christ carries the cross with the help of Simon of Cyrene. They are followed by a large crowd of soldiers. In front, a man blows a trumpet and another man carries a ladder. In the distance, several people stand on Golgotha. Below the image in the margin, an eight-line explanation in Latin.
