About this work
The gentleman of Brionne, dressed as Jason, standing on the stern of a ship surrounded by tritons and music-playing ladies, led by Poseidon. Below a small island with a dragon guarding a chain with the Golden Fleece. Next to it a rocky island with a house on it, before which stands Fame. Above the scene an inscription in French. This print is part of a series of illustrations for a book about the festivities (including a tournament) in the ducal palace in Nancy on 14 February 1627.
