About this work
On a square stand and sit on the left various wounded - war casualties - waiting at the entrance of a hospital. On the right a number of people on crutches stand in line at a man who distributes soup. Below the image a six-line French verse. This print is part of a series of 17 (18 including title print) prints with depictions of various kinds of miseries that warfare brings with it.
