About this work
In the center of the image sits a king on a throne. On the left and right of him stand soldiers. One of them kneels while a decoration is hung around him. Below the image a six-line French verse. This print is part of a series of 17 (18 incl. title print) prints depicting various kinds of misery that warfare brings with it.
