About this work

Pageant wagon in the form of a large cloud, upon which Cupid surrounded by a retinue of cupids and the three Graces. This structure was made for the festivities 'Guerra di Bellezza', which Cosimo II de' Medici gave in Florence in 1616 on the occasion of the arrival of Federico della Rovere, the prince of Urbino and the fiancé of his sister Claudia. At the top of the image a banner with Italian text.
