About this work

On a square groups of people are engaged in the trade of enslaved prisoners. To the left at a staircase some shackled men are shown. To the right in the foreground a distinguished gentleman stands by a round tower (prison) counting money for another gentleman, to buy the shackled enslaved Christian (?) who stands behind him (free?). In the middle of the square some prisoners with chains on their ankles walk behind a distinguished couple. To the left in the foreground a man with an Eastern appearance points another couple at the people at the tower.
