About this work

A soldier with a plumed hat on his head, right arm raised in a pointing gesture, left hand on the hilt of his sword, seen from the front, depicted twice: on the left as an outline, on the right more developed with shading. In the background, a cavalry fight. This print is part of a series of 16 prints (15 according to Lieure; 17 or 16 including title print) with men and women in various poses. These prints may have been intended as drawing models.
