About this work
A soldier with a long coat and a plumed hat on his head, right arm raised, left hand on hip, seen from the back, depicted twice: on the right as an outline, on the left more developed with shading. In the background, three small figures, two with a halberd. This print is part of a series of 16 prints (15 according to Lieure; 17 or 16 including title print) with men and women in various poses. These prints may have been intended as drawing models.
