About this work
Sheet with 24 scenes from the life of Saartje Jans, the kitchen maid. In the first scenes she works as a kitchen maid but is dismissed because she uses too much expensive turf for cooking. Afterwards, she becomes a soldier. Below each image, a two-line verse. Numbered top right: No. 12.
