About this work
A Stairway of Old Age: a double staircase. On the steps of the staircase, shaped like a bridge, stand men and women aged from 0 to 100 years. Under the bridge, an allegorical scene with various objects, including a column base, a skull, a crown, and a mitre. On either side of the scene, a curtain. Below the scene, a twelve-line verse in two columns. Numbered center bottom: No. 117.
