About this work

On the right in the foreground stands a man with a bag over his shoulder playing a flute, leaning on a stick. Next to him his little dog is defecating and his goats are grazing. In the background a small figure with a flock by a gate in a wall around a village. This print is part of a series of 48 prints (50 including title page and dedication page) with diverse subjects (e.g. men and women in various poses, landscapes, buildings and festivities in Florence). These prints may have been intended as drawing examples.
