About this work
Procession of the Doge on Ascension Day over the Piazza San Marco in Venice. The procession leads to the Bucintoro, the Doge's galley. Once a year the Doge ceremonially 'married' the Adriatic Sea during the Festa della Sensa by throwing a ring into the water from this galley.
