About this work
Portrait of Marshal de Luxembourg full-length with a command staff in his hand. In the background the town of Dinant, where new fortifications were built for defence against the Dutch. These are being built not by people but by devils (in 1696?). Below the print a satirical verse of six lines in Dutch on the construction of the fortifications.
