About this work
Interior in which a family celebrates the Feast of Saint Nicholas. In the middle a girl with in her arms a doll of John the Baptist and a bucket with sweets. On the left a crying boy who has received a rod in his shoe. Next to the mother with outstretched arms stands a laughing boy with a club. On the floor stands a basket with cookies and buns, by the chimney some young people sing a Sinterklaas song. In the background an older man and woman.
