About this work

'The Feigned Sorrow': first act, eleventh scene of the comedy 'The Discovered False Virtue' by David Lingelbach (1687). A woman (Geertruy) standing in the doorway feigns sorrow at the departure of her older husband (Filibert), who is led away by a young man.
