About this work

Statue of Bacchus with in one hand a raised drinking bowl, in his other hand the Thyrsus. In his hair he wears vine leaves and grapes, over his shoulder hangs the skin of a panther. He stands next to a tree trunk. In the lower centre on the base the coat of arms of Vincenzo Giustiniani. Print from a series after the sculptures in the collection of the Galleria Giustiniani, Rome.
