About this work
The sleeping Silenus, wearing a crown of vine leaves on his head, is tied to a tree by three followers of Bacchus with twigs. Next to Silenus lie his drinking cup and staff. Above, on a rock, a satyr looks on. To the left rear, the gallery of a classical temple with a statue of a woman in front of it.
