About this work

One of a series of six. Son (Filius Prodigus) embraced by Peace (Pax). Around them stand Justice (Justicia), Joy (Laeticia) and Constancy (Constantia). Above them the Holy Spirit in a halo. In the background the father (Pater) in conversation with personification of the Jewish people (Gens Judaica), two men slaughtering a cow, and a church interior (Ecclesia) with the baptism of a child and the celebration of the Eucharist.
