Allegory of wisdom and the arts

A statue of Minerva, as goddess of the arts and of learning, and a statue of Folly, a woman with donkey ears. Between the statues play putti. Three putti take honey from a beehive, other putti read and one putto wears a Phrygian cap and holds a bowl filled with papers in his hands. At the top float three putti with trumpets and laurel wreaths. Musical instruments are incorporated in the border work as symbols for the arts.
