About this work

Christ prays in the garden of Gethsemane. An angel appears from heaven with a chalice. In the foreground, Peter, John and James sleep. In the background, Judas leads a group of soldiers through the gate. In the margin, a Bible quote from Matt. 26 and a two-line inscription with a dedication in Latin.
