About this work
English ships lie off the islands of Vlieland and Terschelling. On the island of Terschelling, recognizable by the lighthouse De Brandaris, the village of West-Terschelling is burning. On the right the Dutch merchant ships, which are anchored in the Vlie, are set on fire by English sailors in boats. In the foreground the island of Vlieland. At the top of the print a cartouche with Italian inscription.
