About this work
The three ships the Meermin, the Batavier and Doggersbank are launched at the yard of the Dutch East India Company in Amsterdam on 2 July 1783. Between the Dutch and French title a vignette is shown that refers to the United East India Company with putti at a beehive and tools of a shipyard.
