About this work

Personification of Humility. Woman, standing by a ruin, in her left hand a banner with thereon an image of the Man of Sorrows, next to her a lamb. In the top left a coat of arms with Michael defeating the devil, on top a bird. Below the image a two-line text in Latin. Original text is cut out and replaced by a strip with the same text, from another copy. First print from a series of seven.
