The sitter leans with his right arm on a table. On it lies a book. Part of a series of twelve portraits after daguerreotypes and twelve city views. On the occasion of the Music Festival celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Society for the Promotion of Music in Rotterdam, 12-15 July 1854.
