About this work
Gabriel Grub is a character from The Pickwick Papers, written by Charles Dickens in 1836. Grub is the literary predecessor of Ebenezer Scrooge and the story bears many similarities to A Christmas Carol. Grub is kidnapped by the king of the fairies to his underground hideout. There he sees scenes that change his feelings about humanity and Christmas for the better. In the left corner sits the narrator of the story with children around him.
