About this work
St. Anthony suffers strong hallucinations as a result of his hermit life. In the front left, he is attacked and dragged away by demons in his dwelling. On the sea, several ships lie, including a burning ship. Many drowning people try to save themselves. On the rocky coast, various animals lie. Below the image in the margin, a one-line Latin text from Ps. 33.
